Consultations are by appointment and can be booked over the telephone during opening hours. Please note that online appointment booking has been temporarily suspended due to Covid restrictions.

Please remember that if you are booking a 10 minute appointment, if you think you might need longer then please advise the reception staff when making the appointment, they will advise you on the best choices.

Actual GP surgery times can vary and clinic times may be adjusted from time to time to meet the changes in demand. Our reception team will be happy to provide details.

This is a teaching Practice so we do offer appointments with Registrars in addition to the above.

Nurse Practitioner/Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with our nurse practitioner or practice nurse rather than a doctor. They are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly. Our reception staff will be only too happy to help you with this.

Telephone Advice

If you feel your problem can be dealt with over the telephone rather than by attending the surgery all of our doctors and nurses have allocated slots in the morning for giving telephone advice. Please give the reception staff as much information as possible so that the doctors can be better prepared to deal with your problem when they call, ask reception for details.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. You can cancel by sending a text message to 07779 988618. Please note this number is for cancellations only and no-one will answer it if you ring.

Over 270 appointments are wasted every month by non-attenders which obviously affects our ability to provide prompt access to the local community. This is the equivalent of 10 days worth of appointments for one doctor.

Patients who fail to attend two appointment without prior notice will receive a warning. A third failure to attend (and more) may sometimes result in removal from the practice list.

Please note that in order for us to reuse a cancelled appointment at least one hours notice of cancellation must be given.
